Thanksgiving is on its way. Family is arriving; the oven is heating and the aromas are quintessential yumola. But, that isn’t all.
Particularly at this time of year, I, like everyone else, ponder the things that I am thankful for. It always includes family, friends, pets, and good health.
This year, as I reflect on the year speeding by, I am particularly thankful for the staff and volunteers at Liberty Wildlife. I am thankful for their willingness to accept changes and the crazy workload related to those challenges…for their ability to dig deep and find a little more of themselves to give.
I am thankful for their thoughtfulness in how to make things better for both the animals that we help and for the public with whom we can share our educational values.
I am thankful for the generosity of the people who take the time to bring in animals in need and for understanding that each animal that we care for has no insurance and will take resources to heal and release.
I am thankful for the foundations and corporations who understand the importance of the service that Liberty Wildlife provides not only for our community but also nationally through our feather repository and ultimately to the environment with their generous donations to support our work.
Most of all I am thankful for everyone who recognizes how important our natural world is. It is the envelope that contains us all, no matter who we are or what we believe and without it, we would all perish. I am grateful to all of you who are willing to make choices that will result in a better world for our children and theirs….for a bountiful natural and balanced world!
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you.
This Week @ Liberty – November 20, 2017
I had a whole new update all typed in and ready to post and then something happened to the connection on my computer and everything I had loaded disappeared.
SO, I’m going post this re-run of a video I posted for Thanksgiving a few years ago so I get something out tonight. Sorry for the less-than-nominal performance today…
I want to say I’m thankful for all the volunteers, animals, and staff at Liberty Wildlife for all they do each and every day. It’s a labor of love and dedication that deserves gratitude and recognition. Please enjoy the holiday!
