What was your first job: Working in a dress shop and I hated every minute of it.

Name: Jan Miller

Position: Director of Medical Services

Job Description: Medical care of all animals at Liberty.  Education animal trainer. Facility operations

What was your first job: My first job was an annoying little kid that would go door to door volunteering to walk my neighbors dogs. Then sadly as I was a little older I bagged groceries.

Name: Alex Stofko

Position: Daily Care Manager, Intake Manager, Volunteer Manager

Job Description: oversee daily care of all animals at facility, intake of all drop off animals, and facility operations

What was your first job: retail at PacSun

Name: Laura Hackett

Position: Education Manager; Wildlife Biologist; Research & Conservation Manager

Job Description: create and schedule educational programs both on and off site, manage the Research and Conservation department and mitigate wildlife issues in the community/with utilities, daily care/training of Education Ambassadors, PR/Media, etc etc

What was your first job: Camp counselor at a nature center

Name: Robert Mesta

Position: Director, Liberty Wildlife Non-Eagle Feather Repository Program (LWNEFR)

Job Description: I oversee the operation of the LWNEFR, Liberty Wildlife is permitted by the USFWS to accept, hold and distribute non-eagle feathers to Native Americans for religious and ceremonial purposes. The LWNEFR provides feathers to Native Americans throughout the U.S.

What was your first job: Picking fruit.

Name: Acacia Parker

Position: Public Outreach Coordinator

Job Description: Manage memberships, coordinate events, write blog and float between daily care and educational programs when needed

What was your first job: Hostess at a Chinese Restaurant

Name: Chris Sar

Position: Development Consultant

Job Description: I help coordinate a variety of fundraising activities for Liberty, from capital campaign, annual gifts, online gifts, grants, and some fundraising events.

What was your first job:  I sold artwork to my classmates in 5th grade. Then I also had a paper route.

Name: Amy Day

Position: Director of Accounting

Job Description: Oversee all financial matters and reporting for LW

What was your first job: Salad bar queen at Ponderosa Steakhouse

Name: Mare Van Dyke

Position: NEFR Coordinator, and Accounting Assistant

Job Description: My primary role … is to know and apply the guidelines required by our permit from the USFWS for the LW Non-Eagle Feather Repository.

What was your first job: My total career was centered on marketing and business management. It began with my first job as the fabric “sample girl” identifying colors/dyes for a men’s clothing manufacturer.

Name: Susie Vaught

Position: Bookkeeper

Job Description: using Quickbooks enter donations, compile bank deposit, clear deposits, pay bills

What was your first job: At 17 I worked at A&W root beer in Scottsdale

Name: Debbie Ordorica

Position: Hotline Coordinator

Job Description: Train, Assist and Oversee all volunteers for our hotline team, ensure coverage, admin duties.  Closer – Assist med services, closing duties, lock up facility.

What was your first job: Veterinary assistant at Acoma Animal Hospital in Tucson

Name: Brooke Pybus

Position: Facility Coordinator

Job Description: Focal Point for the maintenance of buildings, grounds and animal care enclosures. Coordinate building and facility compliance needs as required. Asked to fix most anything that is broken.

What was your first job: Washing windows and floors at Baskin Robbins Ice Cream

Carol Suits

Position: Recently retired as Volunteer Coordinator/HR now volunteer staff/HR and Guardian member

Job Description: I continue to write “Kid Stuff” articles for the monthly LW publication, Nature News, contribute and edit our annual magazine, Wing Beats, and help with fundraising activities as a Guardian.

What was your first job: My first job was teaching public elementary school students in RI, NJ, GA and NY

Name: Jake Hershauer

Position: Orphan Care Coordinator; Rescue/Transport Coordinator

Job Description: Train and support the rescue/transport team.  Train, schedule and lead the Orphan Care team.  Float between events and hospital as needed

What was your first job: This! And I liked to say I was a “full time volunteer” at Liberty before this position.

Name: Susan Bainbridge

Position: Hotline Co-Coordinator

Job Description: Lead hotline volunteers, monitor rescue missions and ensure coverage

What was your first job: Small animal rescue kennel technician
