They work to keep the traditions they have learned from their elders alive and passed on to new generations. They have been together for over 9 years\, sharing their blessings through dancing and singing. \n  \nBird Singing and Dancing by the River Dance Group \nThis dance group was formed in January 2003 by concerned parents and grandparents wanting to teach their children the Piipaash (Maricopa) culture and traditions. Their songs and dances come from the Maricopa style of bird singing and dancing. Their dances include those performed by women only like the Basket Dance. As of today\, the dance group Bird Singing and Dancing by the River is in its third generation of singers and dancers\, proudly preserving tribal traditions. Northern Traditional Dancer \nAllen King\, Zuni Pueblo\, Dine\, the Northern Traditional dance evokes the style of the Plains Indians\, their hunting parties\, and warriors\, their regalia\, their bravery and courage. Two of the dances Allen will be performing are the Sneak-Up Song and the Crow Hop. \nSRPMIC Traditional Dancers \nEstablished in 1996 by the youth group Teens in Action to represent the Onk Akimel O’odham (“Salt River People”). This dance group began with a focus on providing an opportunity for its members to gain more knowledge of Onk Akemel O’odham culture and traditions through song and dance\, with the goal to pass those teachings on to future generations and ignite a spark in young people to take an interest in who they are and where they come from. The group performs a variety of dances from social dances to dances performed only by the females of the group. The more recognizable dance is the Basket Dance. \nPima Traditional Basket Dancers \nThis group of women are from villages in District 6 of the Gila River Indian Community and have been dancing together for 14 years. They will be doing the traditional Gila River Basket Dance. \nCoatlicue Danza Mexica (Aztec Dance) \nCoatlicue Danza Mexica consists of families of all ages that have dedicated themselves to preserving the teachings of traditional Danza Azteca. Danza is harmonious prayer in motion that involves the acknowledgment of sacred elements while embracing our own energy to maintain balance. These dancers\, Guerreros de Luz\, (warriors of light)\, share and teach through prayer in motion\, the beauty of our ancestors\, land\, and life. \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:This will be no ordinary gala! We invite you to join us virtually for “Wishes for Wildlife” in support of Arizona’s native wildlife. We’re planning a new\, innovative and interactive event this year that you won’t want to miss! \nLiberty Wildlife’s mission is to “nurture the nature” of Arizona by answering the community’s need for quality wildlife rehabilitation\, environmental education\, and conservation services. Founded as a 501(C)3 in 1981\, Liberty Wildlife has nurtured over 100\,000 birds\, mammals and reptiles. Last year Liberty presented hundreds of educational programs to citizens of all ages across the state. Together we can help thousands more of our precious native wildlife as they struggle with urban encroachment into their native habitat and rapidly changing environment\, as well as educate and inspire future stewards of our state. Please join us in preserving our unique wildlife heritage for many generations to come! \nYour support directly assists the lives of Arizona’s native wildlife\, promotes stewardship and provides quality environmental education throughout the Southwest. \nEnjoy a fantastic virtual experience that you will never forget\, and make a lasting difference with Arizona’s native wildlife. \nhttps://aesaz.co/ELP/LIBERTY20/EventInfo
